1939 Plymouth Road King Business Coupe, Restomod Hotrod done in the late 80s with a receipt file near 100K at that time. Car started as nice original and was turned into what you see over 10 years of work. A lifetime achievement award for the man who did it. Today it is a saved relic from its second round of life as a show car hot rod looking for the 3rd, possibly 4th phase of its life now. It is an excellent aging restoration still ready to show anywhere with a history of more car show trophys and plaques thrown away from the 80s builder's estate than most people could earn in a lifetime. Car consisting of 318 4BBL (really smooth peppy kitten motor) , Torqueflight, ford 9" with 3.00 ratio, Mustang II front end/rack, Tilt wheel, power disk front brakes, Air Conditioning, Dynamat insulated interior (very cutting edge at the time) , House of Color Paint (paint and body very strong point on this, would take more than this car will ever sell for just to duplicate that aspect today) nice vintage Cragers, nice stereo/CD, power antenna, many neat quality touches and more.
As stated, this car is ready to take to any show as it is. You can make it your own taste or touches without reinventing the wheel or just show and go. It can be parade, it idles cool, stays cool and comfortable and is VERY accommodating to drive for even someone that is aging like the car. Route 66 it if you want, I see no reason it could not do that. Woodward, Cruise the coast.. etc. Car is ready to relive yesterdays memories with its own interpretation of cool. Motor purs, easy runner, not radical, starts one hand on key, loves to idle like a police car with that air on. Steering is easy, and it is solid driver that is WELL sorted decades ago and still going.
One of the most attention grabbing cars I have been in. Selling for long time friend and customer. If you had a "dream" and wanted to duplicate something like this today it would take 150-200K doing most of the work yourself over a decade. This is done, ready, fractional price as money recovery was never the goal. Drive it, show it, piddle with it, tour it, road trip it. Keep your retirement money in the bank vs undertaking a restoration, keep your sanity and keep your wife with a car like this. Leave the restoration dreams of a clunker where they belong... as dreams.
