This just may prove to be the best surviving 1989 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat in existence. This always garaged, never abused, or rarely even used, pickup has never been forced to work for a living. This truck is virtually flawless and that is a tough claim to back up. This body style is the best for truck ever made in my opinion.
This example is an all option, top of the line Lariat with the three tone factory paint job and all the power accessories offered that year. The engine is the incredibly durable 5.0 Liter fuel injected V8 that is literally beyond criticism and has more than proven itself with the test of time. Many recognize this engine as the one that powered the mustangs of the same era. It is the same engine and technology, the only difference being the truck engine was tuned for torque and not high rpm. I have owned a ’87 Chevrolet pickup with all options and while it was a very nice tuck, the Ford is far more refined in almost every subtle manner. For example the body does not squeak or rattle, the ride is almost luxury car smooth, and the front suspension and steering is far more controlled and accurate than the venerable Chevrolet. I presume other people can feel and tell this as the Ford F Series has been the number one selling truck for decades.
This particular example has lived a life most exotic cars dream of while still lightly driven. It has 46K miles... High for a collector car, but for an 89 F-150... As low as it gets. The underneath is clean and free from any dirt, or corrosion. The vehicle starts first time every time and rolls down the road without rattles, pulling, vibrations, or loud wind noise. Some of the options this Ford has is dual gas tanks, power windows, door locks, cruise, tilt, premium sound, sliding rear window, and of course ice cold A/C and toasty heat. I keep this truck perfect and everything working correctly because:
