1971 VW Dune Buggy

1971 VW Dune Buggy, 1971 Title, Engine AE 830528 1971 Dual Port 1600 CC, high quality build.  Body and chassis are the high quality Berrien Nostalgia, of which the company is still around today.   This a a very high quality build that is more of a street buggy than off-road.  Fully street legal, signals, belts, lights, horn, etc.   It handles like a race cart and looks like a show cart, that's because it is one.  All of the chassis and components are finished out for show, it is highly detailed throughout.  The finish is red/metal flake gel coat.  It is sharp, impressive and flawless.  It will give a bass boat a complex!   It is really one of the sharpest VW buggies you will see.  The engine is reliable, not overbuilt as a total race motor, but powerful enough to have fun in without the temperament of a race motor. I sounds and runs great, idles great, easy to drive.  Nice Kenwood stereo and neat accent lighting inside too.  When on the street, this buggy has tons of "look at me" appeal and smiles.    It has front disk brakes, rear drum, sway bar, 15x7 front and 15x8 back American racing wheels.  Parking brake is strong and will hold it in place on steep hills.  It has a full top too.  The rear seat is a "platform" in black ostrich that works well in parades, and of course the kids will be comfortable in it, or just forget its there and have fun from the front buckets.   Total miles are 152 miles, it as been sorted and used in a few local parades.  My good friend Tom built it, he has build MANY award winning customs and show cars in his 80 years...  He just cannot get in and out of it anymore, thus it has so few miles.  The quality in this is higher than most any buggy i have ever seen at any show.  I have had it shown in my place for some time as it is so nice, we keep it running well and it lives in a car museum.  Be sure to watch the videos!
